Wiki Pages was fun to use because I got to see another way to do a concept map except the site that I was given, Mindomo, was for students instead of teachers. I personally wouldn't be able to use this tool in my classroom, but I would recommend it to teachers who that teach older grades such as Jr.  high and high school. Mindomo is a great web tool that allows students who are having a hard time to organize their thoughts in a way that might be able to help them learn the concept(s) of the unit.

Read Along Video Edited Version

Attached is the link to the Edited version of my Read Along Video Assignment for this week. I read a children's book, "It Really Said Christmas" by Laurie Parker. I chose this book for 2 reasons: it was made for my targeted audience (pre-k and kindergarten age, and my favorite time of the year is Christmas; therefore, with Christmas right around the corner I figured this would be a perfect choice. I enjoyed doing the video and editing the video it showed me not only how to make an interactive read video for my future classroom, but it also taught me how to manipulate and work with the iMovie app built specifically for these kind of activities! Turnitin Assignment

Working with Turnitin was very informative. I have used Turnitin before when I went to my junior college, but I never looked at it with the perspective of teaching. I would not, personally, be able to use Turnitin much within my classroom since I want to teach Kindergarten or 1st grade, but it is a great thing to use for the older grades such as 5-12. It is not only a way for the students to learn about plagiarism and the seriousness of it, but also for the teacher to see if the students understand the concept of plagiarism and is they are plagiarizing their papers. If I were to teach the higher grades in an elementary school, then I would definitely use Turnitin for the students to turn in all of their written assignments.

Interactive Poetry Notebook

https://sites.google.com/site/msdonohuesclassroom/ This is the website that I have created. It is based on an interactive poetry notebook that can be used in a Kindergarten classroom setting. I included a "poem for the week" on the third page of the website. I included a sample calendar of what the homework for the interactive poetry notebook could be, but it is negotiable and can be changed. On the first page of the website, I made the introductory paragraph into bullet point form, so it is easier to read and understand. Making a classroom website is a great way to keep the parents involved throughout the school year so that they can help their children with their homework. I could not get the page to link without it having a problem loading the page.

Web Tools in Class 10/13/16

I really enjoyed the activity we did in class on Thursday where we went through various web tools and assessment sites. These are a great way to observe what the students have learned on the section that is being taught. I particularly enjoyed the kahoot.it.com questions because it was a way to involve the entire class digitally, and even though I got most of the answers wrong, I was having fun and laughing with my friends. This is a good way for the children to be social with their peers. I could see myself using this website within my classroom for interactive learning.

Trip to Europe: Animoto (After EdPuzzle)

This is my Animoto video after adding the questions; I could not add voice, however, due to the fact that my voice add would not work for me at the time. EdPuzzle is a great way to learn how to get your students virtually and technologically involved in the classroom!
